Rachel Urbanowicz

Rachel Urbanowicz is an Assistant Professor of Communications and Chair of the Communications, Art, and Humanities Department at Keystone College. She holds an M.A. in Strategic Communications Management from Concordia University, a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an A.A.S. in Advertising Design from Brown College. Prior to academia, she spent 20 years in corporate creative roles, leading projects for McDonald’s, corporate rebranding initiatives, and non-profit design work. At Keystone, she teaches Graphic Design, Web Design, Professional Practices, and Speech Communication. She advises The Plume, a student literary and arts magazine.

Her professional experience includes award-winning student projects at Misericordia University, theater production management, and fundraising for causes like the Catherine McAuley House and campus food pantries. She presented at WPCampus 2023 on digital media portfolios, highlighting her focus on integrating technology into educational practices.

Her research interests span digital media pedagogy, graphic design education, and leveraging technology for creative communication. While no personal awards are listed, her work emphasizes community engagement and practical skill development for students.
