Rachel Pemberton Powell

Dr. Rachel Pemberton Powell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), affiliated with the College of Medicine. She joined MUSC in 2019 and specializes in comprehensive obstetrics and gynecologic services with a focus on contraception, vaginal birth after cesarean, and minimally invasive surgery. She received her BS in Microbiology from Clemson University (magna cum laude) and her MD from MUSC. Her residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University included serving as Administrative Chief Resident, where she earned the AAGL award for surgical excellence.

Dr. Powell’s clinical practice is centered at MUSC Women’s Health locations in Mount Pleasant and Charleston, SC. Her research interests align with her clinical expertise, emphasizing advancements in gynecologic surgery and obstetric care. She is actively involved in academic medicine, contributing to both clinical care and education within the College of Medicine.
