Rachel Paul

Rachel Paul is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department at Western Washington University (since Fall 2008), affiliated with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from Miami University. Her research focuses on ethnic lobbies, American politics, and foreign policy, particularly examining how ethnic interest groups influence U.S. foreign policy decisions. She also explores topics like genocide studies, gender in politics, and comparative foreign policy frameworks.

Teaching includes courses on Political Geography, the Politics of Genocide, Women in Politics, and Comparative Foreign Policy. She coordinates a Political Science Honors Program seminar. Office hours are TR 4:00–4:50 PM in AH 413 or via Zoom.

Her publications analyze diaspora politics, gender bias in presidential evaluations, and the role of collective memory in advocacy groups. No scientific awards are listed, but her work reflects sustained scholarly engagement with marginalized communities' political agency.
