Rachel Kaadzi Ghansah is a Lecturer in English at Yale University, recognized for her acclaimed essays and cultural critiques. Her work focuses on prominent figures such as Kendrick Lamar, Missy Elliott, and Toni Morrison, alongside investigations into societal issues like race and identity. She won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for her feature on Dylann Roof and the American Mosaic Journalism Prize (2019). Her forthcoming two-volume work, The Explainers and The Explorers, examines the Black American experience through history. Ghansah has written for The Paris Review, The Believer, and The New York Times Magazine.
She curated A Woman’s Work at MoMA (2018), exploring Black female creativity, and was featured in the Root 100 as an influential young African American leader. Her accolades include National Magazine Awards (finalist in 2013 and 2018) and inclusion in The Best American Essays (2017).
