Rachel Jones

Dr. Rachel Jones serves as Dean of the School of Science and Kinesiology and Associate Professor of Environmental Science & Biology at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Arizona State University (2006), an M.S. in Botany from the University of Wyoming (2010), and a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Wyoming (2014). Her research focuses on southern U.S. paleoecology, investigating Native American influences on ecosystem development through paleoecological techniques and anthropological data.

Dr. Jones has conducted significant vegetation change studies in the southern Ozarks of Missouri and served as an environmental consultant for the energy industry in Wyoming, assessing vegetation reclamation efforts for nearly a decade. Her work bridges ecological research with practical land management solutions.
