Rachel Elgerton is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Newman University. With a diverse background spanning military service, burns and reconstructive surgery, and global nursing and educational roles, she specializes in clinical education and simulation for healthcare professionals. She holds a PGCE in Higher Education and a master’s degree in Strategic Leadership and Management.
Her research and teaching focus on wound care innovation, particularly non-traditional management techniques, alongside clinical skills development and academic writing support for nursing students. Professional affiliations include current membership with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Prior to academia, Rachel served in the military and accumulated extensive international clinical experience. Her expertise bridges practical healthcare delivery and educational leadership, emphasizing strategic management in healthcare systems.
