Rachel Cristy is Lecturer in Philosophy at King's College London, where she specializes in nineteenth-century philosophy, Nietzsche studies, and American pragmatism. She holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto Centre for Ethics.
Her research examines Nietzsche's and William James's critiques of scientism, exploring epistemological boundaries and the relationship between philosophy, science, and aesthetics. Current work investigates Nietzsche's moral psychology and Jamesian pragmatism through the lens of virtue epistemology.
Cristy teaches courses on nineteenth-century philosophy, aesthetics, philosophy of race and gender, and philosophy-art intersections. Her publications appear in Journal of Nietzsche Studies and European Journal of Philosophy, analyzing how philosophical frameworks shape understanding of truth, justice, and human experience.
