Rachel Cheek is an Instructor at the Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, Samford University. She transitioned to full-time faculty in 2024 after serving as a part-time clinical associate. Her career spans nine years as a medical ICU staff nurse before entering nursing education. Cheek holds a BSN (Samford University, 2008) and MSN (Auburn University, 2019).
Her expertise focuses on Adult Health and Critical Care nursing, with research emphasizing evidence-based practices in nursing education. A notable contribution is her 2018 presentation on improving parental confidence in managing childhood food allergies through hands-on learning.
Cheek is honored with the Mrs. T.M. Kathryn Hodge Scholarship and memberships in Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Societies. She actively participates in the American Nurse Association, Alabama State Nurse Association, and community initiatives like Compassion International. Her professional ethos centers on compassion, clinical excellence, and humility, guided by her faith.
