Rachel Bleeze

Dr. Rachel Bleeze is a Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. She holds a PhD and has held teaching roles at The University of New England and Tabor College of Higher Education. Her research focuses on comparative education, intercultural understanding in classrooms, and curriculum design to foster empathy. She has been recognized with awards for her scholarship and has served as a research consultant for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and an Advisory Board Member for Heliyon.

Dr. Bleeze’s research explores how education systems can cultivate empathy and intercultural awareness, particularly through historical and cultural curricula. Her recent grants include studies on national history curricula (2023), empathy in education using virtual reality (2023), and disability-inclusive education (2023). She teaches courses such as 'Education Policies & Systems' and 'Introduction to Teaching and Learning,' and supervises Masters and PhD students.
