Rachel Berger is an Associate Professor of History at Concordia University and Fellow of the Simone de Beauvoir Institute. She concurrently serves as Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Development at the School of Graduate Studies. Her research focuses on South Asian medical history, food politics, colonialism, and queer studies. Berger holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (Clare College) and earlier degrees from Concordia University and the University of Toronto.

Advising & Grants: Supervises graduate students in History, INDI, or HUMA programs focusing on South Asia or 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Actively involved in interdisciplinary supervision. Recent funding includes SSHRC and Wellcome Trust grants supporting her food history research.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the Simone de Beauvoir Institute and collaborates with global networks in colonial medicine and gender studies.
