Rachel A. Batch is an Associate Professor at Widener University with affiliations in Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies, History, and Secondary Education. Her research focuses on 20th-century U.S. labor history, immigrant communities, and transnational activism. She holds a PhD in American Civilization from the University of Pennsylvania (2000), MA (1993), and BA in History and Spanish from Carnegie Mellon University (1991).

Her work examines working-class cultures, immigrant experiences, and the intersection of ethnic identity with economic justice. Recent research explores Croatian Americans' use of transnational networks to advocate for political freedom abroad and labor rights domestically during the mid-20th century.
Publications include analyses of company towns, labor wars, and ethnic activism, reflecting her commitment to social history methodologies. She has received grants from the NEH and Immigration History Research Center.
