Dr Rachael Miller Harrison is a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter. She holds a PhD in Cognitive Biology from the University of Vienna and has extensive experience in comparative cognition, conservation, and animal welfare. Her research focuses on the evolution of cognition in birds, primates, and humans, with a particular emphasis on executive function, behavioral flexibility, and conservation applications. She co-founded the ManyBirds Project, a large-scale collaboration studying avian cognition across 136 species. Dr Miller Harrison has supervised numerous students, including Dr Ning Ding, and has secured over £250,000 in research funding. Her work has been featured in high-impact journals and media outlets, and she advocates for open science practices.
