Rabab Al-Lahham

Rabab Al-Lahham is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Her research focuses on neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, with an emphasis on tau proteins, immunotherapy strategies, and mouse models. She investigates mechanisms linking tau dysfunction to insulin resistance and explores novel diagnostic tools for amyloid deposits. Her work also addresses therapeutic interventions, such as plasma exchange and passive immunotherapy, targeting amyloid plaques and tau oligomers. Collaborations span neurology, pharmacology, and imaging, contributing to brain health research initiatives at UTMB.
