ROSA MARIA SEÑARIS RODRIGUEZ

Rosa Maria Señaris Rodriguez is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the Department of Physiology. Her research focuses on physiological mechanisms, particularly thermoregulation, energy homeostasis, and ion channel biology. She leads the FIFAEC research group 'Physiology and Pharmacology of Chronic Diseases' and is part of the Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS). She holds a PhD from the University of Santiago de Compostela (1990), supervised by Dr. Fernando Domínguez Puente and Dr. Carlos Dieguez Gonzalez, on the regulation of somatostatin and GHRH synthesis.

Her work spans neuroendocrinology, cancer metabolism, and reproductive physiology. Key areas include TRPM8 ion channels' roles in thermoregulation and circadian rhythms, AMPK signaling in glioblastoma, and leptin's regulatory mechanisms during pregnancy. Her recent publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to metabolic and oncological diseases.
