Rémi Rhodes is a Professor at Aix-Marseille Université (AMU) and a researcher in the Probability team of the Mathematics of Randomness group at the Institut de Mathématiques de Marseille (I2M). A native of the region, he earned his PhD in 2006 from the University of Provence under Etienne Pardoux, followed by a lecturer position at Paris Dauphine University and a habilitation to direct research. He later worked at the Laboratoire d'Analyse et de Mathématiques Appliquées in Marne-la-Vallée before returning to Marseille in 2018. His research focuses on quantum field theory and probability, notably co-proving the DOZZ formula in Liouville theory, a foundational result in mathematical physics.
Awards:
- George Pòlya Prize in Mathematics (2022) for contributions to Liouville quantum field theory.
His academic journey includes key roles in Parisian institutions and a return to his regional roots at AMU. Collaborations with Antti Kupiainen and Vincent Vargas have been central to his groundbreaking work.
