Quillon Arkenstone serves as a Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
He earned his PhD in Japanese Literature from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2017, focusing on modern Japanese literary traditions. His academic work centers on Japanese Literature and Japanese Cinema, with specialized expertise in Japanese Detective Fiction as a cultural phenomenon reflecting societal transformations in 20th-century Japan.
