Professor Quentin Stevens is a full-time researcher in urban design at RMIT University's School of AUD, with transdisciplinary expertise spanning landscape architecture, public art, urban planning, and sociology. He holds professional degrees in architecture and urban planning, completing his PhD in urban design (2002).
His research focuses on urban open spaces, commemorative landscapes, and waterfronts, supported by grants from the Australian Research Council, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and others. He has taught at Humboldt University Berlin, University College London, and the University of Queensland.
Publications include 8 Routledge books, 25 chapters, and ~60 peer-reviewed articles. He serves on editorial boards for Urban Design International and Journal of Urban Design, and reviews for 48 journals across architecture, urban planning, and geography.
Industry experience includes UK government design coding projects (2004–2005) and peer reviews for the European Research Council, Australian Research Council, and others. Active in doctoral supervision and interdisciplinary collaboration.
