Dr. Quang-Vinh Dang is a Researcher at the University of Hamburg, affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence 'Understanding Written Artefacts' (UWA). He holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence Convergence and specializes in Generative AI, multimodality, and computer vision. His work focuses on applying AI techniques to analyze historical manuscripts, combining domain expertise with machine learning.
Education: Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence Convergence, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mechatronics (focusing on control systems and robotics).
Research interests include generative AI, computer vision applications in cultural heritage preservation, and cross-disciplinary approaches blending robotics and AI. He has contributed to projects like the Visual Manuscript Analysis Lab and Document Image Binarization competitions.
Awards include 3rd place (ICDAR 2019) and Best Paper Award (Korea Computer Congress 2019). His publications span scene text processing, multimodal emotion recognition, and document restoration techniques.
