Qiusheng Wu is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Geography & Sustainability at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He also serves as an Amazon Scholar and Amazon Visiting Academic. His research focuses on geospatial data science, open-source software development, and leveraging big geospatial data/cloud computing to study environmental changes, particularly surface water and wetland dynamics. He created packages like geemap and leafmap, and his work is widely recognized through awards like the 2024 Graduate Teaching Award and Google Open Source Peer Bonus Award.
