Qiuguo Fu

Dr. Qiuguo Fu is a Group Leader and Senior Scientist at the Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ, Department of Analytical Chemistry, since 2022. His career includes roles as Scientist (2019-2021) and Post-doctoral Researcher (2016-2019) at Eawag – Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, Department of Environmental Chemistry, and PhD studies at the University of California, Riverside (2014-2016) and Zhejiang University, China (2010-2013).

His work spans environmental monitoring, toxicokinetic modeling, and risk assessment, with projects such as PrePoPMGW (PM substances in groundwater), PERFORCE3 (PFAS analysis), SmartManure (circular economy in agriculture), and MibiTox (microbiome-pesticide interactions).

His recent publications emphasize high-resolution mass spectrometry for contaminant screening, biotransformation in aquatic species, and PFAS detection in biota. He contributes to the NORMAN prioritisation scheme for EU chemical strategies and explores species-specific plasma protein binding of PFAS.
