معرفی
Dr. Qin Wang is a Professor in the Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University. She is also the Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Neurodegeneration and the Inaugural Director of the Program for Alzheimer’s Therapeutics Discovery.
- Ph.D. in Biology/Biological Sciences, University of Iowa (1999)
- MD, Peking University Health Science Center (1992)
Research Interests: Dr. Wang's work focuses on neuropharmacology and cell surface receptor signaling in brain physiology and disease. Her lab uses CRISPR editing, multiomic analysis, and humanized animal models to study Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related conditions. Key areas include noradrenergic dysfunction, endosomal trafficking, astrocyte reactivity, and AD risk factors linked to cancer therapies and congenital heart disease.
Selected Recent Publications highlight trends in neurodegenerative research, with emphasis on GPCR signaling, neuroinflammation, and tau pathology. Notably, her work connects hormone therapy for prostate cancer to AD risk and explores peptide-based interventions for epilepsy and neuroprotection.
Scientific Awards:
- Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Neurodegeneration
- AU/MCG Woman who Inspires, Augusta University, MCG, 2022
Advising and Grants: Dr. Wang mentors graduate students and leads NIH-funded research, including multiple grants as Principal Investigator. She also contributes to professional service via editorial roles and NIH study section leadership.
