Qiaoli Li

Qiaoli Li, PhD is a Research Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Thomas Jefferson University, affiliated with the College of Life Sciences. Her research spans molecular mechanisms of reproductive biology, genetic disorders, and therapeutic interventions, with a focus on maternal mRNA regulation and ectopic calcification diseases.

Her research interests include:

• Biochemistry of Reproduction: Investigating molecular pathways in oocyte development and maternal mRNA degradation.
• Genetic Disease Mechanisms: Studying disorders like Pseudoxanthoma Elasticum (PXE) and their underlying genetic causes.
• Therapeutic Development: Exploring novel treatments including enzyme replacement therapies and small-molecule inhibitors.

Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on translational research, particularly in developing treatments for PXE and understanding genetic causes of infertility. The work bridges basic molecular biology with clinical applications.
