Dr. Qian Lu is Assistant Professor in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles at Coventry University's Centre for Future Transport and Cities. With industrial experience at Jaguar Land Rover (2016-2020) leading ADAS projects, he specializes in CAV risk assessment, verification and validation, and control systems. Holds a PhD in Control Engineering from University of Manchester (2012), MSc in Control System Engineering, and BEng in Electrical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Research spans CAV safety assurance, energy management for EVs, and wind turbine control. Industrial innovations include automated parking systems earning 2019 TATA Innovista award and patented technologies receiving JLR Technical Excellence recognition. Serves as reviewer for IEEE Transactions and Proceedings of IEEE. Current projects focus on synthetic data for AV training and cybersecurity.
