Qi Zhu is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (and by courtesy, Computer Science) at Northwestern University's College of Engineering. He leads the IDEAS Lab, focusing on design automation for intelligent cyber-physical systems (CPS) and IoT applications. His work emphasizes safety, robustness, security, and energy efficiency in embodied AI systems like autonomous vehicles, robotics, and smart infrastructure.

Research Interests: Cross-layer design of CPS, formal verification of neural-network controlled systems, reinforcement learning under delays, and secure CPS architectures. Active in domains like connected vehicles, wearable computing, and industrial IoT.
