Qi Chen holds the L. Palmer Fox Distinguished Professorship of Business Administration at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. His academic expertise lies at the intersection of economics, finance, and accounting, particularly focusing on information dynamics, incentives in financial markets, and corporate governance. He teaches courses in Managerial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, and Accounting PhD seminars. His research has been published in top-tier journals including Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Journal of Accounting Research.
Dr. Chen earned his PhD and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MA in Economics from the University of Maryland, and a BA in Economics from Wuhan University. His research examines how information influences firm investment decisions, accounting systems, and security analyst behaviors, with recent work exploring banking stability through depositor behavior analyses.
Notable contributions include studies on antiretroviral therapy efficacy, HIV transmission dynamics, and public health interventions.
