Pushpita Chatterjee

Dr. Pushpita Chatterjee serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Data Science at the School of Applied Computational Sciences, Meharry Medical College, a position she assumed in August 2024. Her research advances secure, trusted, and resilient distributed computing for cyber-physical systems with applications in fintech and smart healthcare.

Dr. Chatterjee's research integrates cybersecurity, resilient distributed computing, trustworthy machine learning, digital twin technology, and large language modeling to develop robust solutions for financial technology and healthcare cyber-physical systems. Her work emphasizes intelligent infrastructure design through machine learning, distributed systems, and networking innovations.

With over 80 publications and 1,730+ citations in top-tier journals and conferences, she actively reviews for IEEE Transactions, Springer, and Elsevier publications while organizing workshops for premier conferences. She currently edits two books with Springer Science and CRC Press and has guest-edited special issues for TechScience (2021), Wiley WCMC (2022), Elsevier Computer and Electrical Engineering (2022-23), MDPI Sustainability (2023), and IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics (2023-24).

A Senior Member of IEEE and ACM member, she previously held postdoctoral appointments at Howard University, Tennessee State University, and Old Dominion University. From 2012-2016, she served as solution architect and senior research lead at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, collaborating with NEC Japan and NTT Japan on software-defined networking projects. She directs the X-Trust CPS Lab pioneering next-generation secure distributed systems for critical infrastructure applications.
