Priyantha Mudalige is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of New England (UNE) Business School, part of the Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business and Law. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of South Australia, alongside a B.Sc. in Accountancy and Financial Management (Special), an MBA, and certifications in Financial Planning and Business Analytics. His career includes roles as Discipline Lead and Course Coordinator in Finance at Curtin University and teaching positions at the University of Adelaide and Flinders University.
Dr. Mudalige specializes in curriculum design, particularly in multimodal and future-focused programs in finance, accounting, and financial planning. His teaching excellence has earned multiple commendations, including UNE Unit Commendation Awards (2024–2025). He is actively involved in program accreditation for financial planning and accounting programs.
His research focuses on capital market microstructure, corporate finance, environmental finance, and investor behavior. Notable contributions include studies on informed trading, market efficiency, and green bond issuance. He has published in top-tier journals like the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal and received prestigious awards such as the SIRCA Best Paper Award (2017) and CFA Institute’s Practical Capital Markets Research Award (2016).
Mudalige supervises PhD candidates and HDR students across topics like green bond issuance, climate change, and financial risk. He has secured grants for teaching innovations, including real-time feedback systems and online finance course development. Professional memberships include the Financial Planning Association of Australia and the Microstructure Exchange.
