Prithvi Perepa is an Associate Professor in Autism Studies at the University of Birmingham's School of Education, based in the Department of Disability, Inclusion and Special Needs (DISN). He is a member of the Autism Centre for Education Research (ACER) and leads the distance learning Autism Children programme. His roles include contributing to the on-campus MA Education programme and teaching on the Dubai campus. He supervises doctoral students in autism or disabilities research and regularly examines doctoral candidates, serving as an external examiner for special educational needs programmes.
His research focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families, with particular emphasis on cultural intersections, autism and sexuality, and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. He actively disseminates findings through national/international conferences and public engagements.
Prithvi is affiliated with the Centre for Neurogenetics and the Sexuality and Gender Studies research groups. His work bridges academic research, educational practice, and community impact.
