Preston J. MacDougall

Dr. Preston J. MacDougall is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University. He participates in the Molecular Biosciences and Computational Sciences Ph.D. programs. His research focuses on theoretical chemistry, quantum chemistry-based design tools for pharmacology and molecular electronics, and molecular geometry modeling. He has presented work internationally in Italy, Germany, China, Australia, and across the U.S.

Research interests include developing quantum models for molecular electronics, analyzing chemical reactivity through computational methods, and applying molecular modeling in chemical education. His publications address momentum-space investigations of molecular systems and interactive tools for identifying reactive sites.
