Preetika Joshi is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University. Her research focuses on taxation, corporate finance, and the economic consequences of tax policies, leveraging big data and machine learning methodologies. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the Schulich School of Business, York University.
Her research interests include corporate taxation strategies, capital market responses to tax policies, and the impact of global financial transparency measures like BEPS initiatives. She has published in top journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research.
Joshi has received notable awards including the SSHRC Insight Development Grant (2020) and the FRQSC New Academics Grant (2021). Her work has been featured in media discussions on tax policy implications for multinational corporations and financial regulations.
Her grants include SSHRC and FRQSC funding, focusing on tax avoidance and transparency. She is actively involved in policy-oriented research and contributes to public discourse on taxation through media engagements and podcasts.
