Dr. Ananth’s research centers on optimizing palliative and supportive care for children with advanced cancer. Her work aims to develop patient- and family-centered quality measures for end-of-life care, addressing the lack of standardized metrics in pediatric oncology. She investigates the impact of palliative care consultations and early-phase clinical trials on care trajectories. Her research integrates health services, clinical outcomes, and ethical considerations in pediatric palliative oncology.
Her recent publications highlight a growing trend in using natural language processing (NLP) to extract and quantify end-of-life care quality from clinical narratives. She also explores parental grief, communication dynamics, and systemic care patterns in children with complex chronic conditions. Her research bridges clinical practice, data science, and psychosocial support, aiming to transform pediatric palliative care delivery.
