Prasad Manian

Prasad Manian, M.D., M.B.B.S. is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, specializing in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He serves as Chief of the Critical Care Service at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, Texas. His clinical practice is based at the Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center, McNair Campus.

Dr. Manian completed his medical education at Behramji Jijibhai Medical College in 1984, followed by internship at East Tennessee State University in 1988, residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 1991, and postdoctoral fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine in 1994 and 1996. He further enhanced his expertise with a Graduate Certificate in Molecular Genetics from Rice University in 2019.

His research interests span pulmonary medicine, critical care, asthma genetics, and respiratory disorders. Analysis of his publications reveals consistent focus on clinical pulmonary medicine, critical care interventions, diagnostic approaches for pulmonary conditions, and the genetic basis of respiratory diseases. His more recent work has addressed contemporary challenges including COPD classification and COVID-19 treatments.
