معرفی
Prabir Daripa is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on Fluid Dynamics, Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Analysis, and Scientific Computation. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University (1985), with earlier degrees from Brown University (M.S., 1983/82) and a B.Tech. from I.I.T. India (1978).
His work emphasizes the study of complex fluid flows, particularly in Hele-Shaw cells and porous media. Key themes include viscous fingering, interfacial stability, polymer flooding in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), and the role of shear thinning in multiphase systems. He has developed advanced numerical methods for solving elliptic PDEs and simulating multi-component transport processes.
Notable contributions include analyzing linear instability mechanisms in viscoelastic fluid displacement, optimizing time-dependent injection strategies for stabilization, and modeling surfactant-polymer flooding dynamics. His research bridges theoretical analysis with practical applications in energy and environmental systems. Daripa is also associated with the Institute for Applied Mathematics and Computational Science (IAMCS) at TAMU, fostering interdisciplinary computational research.
