Pouran Seifi

Pouran Seifi is an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Language and Culture at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Their research focuses on multilingual sentence processing, cross-linguistic influences in third language (L3) acquisition, and psycholinguistic mechanisms in bilingual/multilingual contexts. Current projects include the TomRis MSCA-funded study (2023-2025) examining sentence processing by child heritage bilinguals. Seifi is affiliated with research groups AcqVA Aurora and C-LaBL, contributing to interdisciplinary work on child language acquisition and bilingualism.

Research employs eye-tracking and behavioral methods to investigate how prior linguistic knowledge impacts L3 learning. Key themes include syntactic processing differences across languages, heritage language maintenance, and cognitive factors influencing multilingual sentence comprehension. Findings bridge theoretical linguistics and applied psycholinguistics, with implications for language education and cognitive science.
