Prof. Dr. Poul Petersen is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Ruhr University Bochum. His research focuses on developing and applying novel infrared (IR) spectroscopies to study ultrafast molecular dynamics on surfaces and in bulk materials.
- Specializes in mid-infrared spectroscopy for direct analysis of molecular vibrations
- Pioneer in nonlinear and time-resolved spectroscopy using ultrafast femtosecond lasers
