Poul Holm is a Professor of History at Trinity College Dublin, affiliated with the Trinity Long Room Hub. He directs the Irish Digital Arts and Humanities Structured PhD Programme and serves as President of the European Consortium of Humanities Institutes and Centres.
His academic career includes leadership roles such as Rector of the University of Roskilde (2006–2008) and Professor of Maritime History at the University of Southern Denmark (2000–2006). He earned a doctorate analyzing the impact of war on everyday life in Scandinavia from 1550 to 1914.
