Poul Bitsch Olsen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Business Management and organization at Roskilde University. He holds an MSc in Sociology and a PhD. His research focuses on management, organizational dynamics, and business administration in Arctic contexts, particularly in Greenland. He leads the Centre for Arctic Studies and has been involved in 14 research projects including the ongoing 'Management in Greenland' initiative since 2018.
Key research interests include organizational theory, project management, sustainable leadership practices, and gender dynamics in northern institutions. He has published extensively on Greenlandic management challenges with 67 research outputs including peer-reviewed journal articles and reports. His work often explores cultural contextualization in policy implementation and cross-cultural business practices.
Olsen has organized conferences like the Nordic Research Network on Trust and delivered lectures on problem-oriented project work and workplace equity. He managed the 'Problemorienterede analyser i en virksomhed' project (2013-2017) and co-developed a PhD course on the research process.
