Polly Taylor

Polly Taylor is a Professor at the University of Zurich's Vetsuisse Faculty. She studied veterinary medicine at Cambridge University and earned her PhD. Her career spans leadership roles in advancing veterinary anesthesia globally.

Taylor pioneered research in equine anesthesia stress responses, optimized analgesia protocols, and influenced drug legislation for veterinary use. She founded the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia and led the European Board of Veterinary Specialization.

Her advocacy prevented ketamine's restrictive UN classification and expanded medication access for horses. She remains active in advising governments and veterinary organizations on drug safety.
