Pirooz Poursoltan is an Associate Professor and Clinical Associate Professor at Macquarie University's Macquarie Medical School, where he serves as Head of the Medical Oncology Discipline. He is a practicing medical oncologist specializing in lung, gastrointestinal, and breast cancers, with over a decade of clinical experience. His research focuses on molecular changes in lung cancer, novel anticancer agents, and phase I-III clinical trials. He contributes to medical education by lecturing in the MD program on topics like cancer management, genetics, and oncology training.
Education: Holds a Master's degree in Medicine. Research Interests: Molecular oncology, targeted therapies, cancer genetics, and translational research. He collaborates with laboratory teams to develop new treatments and has led multiple clinical trials including the OXTOX study (2021-2026) and DYNAMIC III (2019-2024).
Collaborations: Active in multi-institutional studies involving cardiology, genetics, and oncology. Notable projects include early cardiotoxicity detection via echocardiography and trials assessing ibudilast for oxaliplatin neurotoxicity reduction.
