Piotr Zbróg

Piotr Zbróg is an Associate Professor and Director of the Institute of Polish Philology at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce (UJK), where he has been employed since 1994, progressing from Assistant (until 2001) to Assistant Professor (2001-2012), and finally to Associate Professor (since 2012). In addition to his academic position, he serves as Head of the Department of Language Communication, Member of the UJK Senate, and Plenipotentiary of the Rector for the scientific discipline of linguistics.

His research focuses on language culture, syntax, linguistic communication, social representations, and Polish language teaching. Zbróg's scholarly work demonstrates a consistent interest in the structure of Polish language, particularly syntax and language norms, with significant attention to historical development and contemporary usage. His publications reveal a methodological approach blending traditional linguistic analysis with sociolinguistic perspectives.

Zbróg has made significant contributions to public understanding of linguistics through media engagement, hosting the daily radio program 'Rozprawy z jezykiem' on Radio Kielce since 2017 and the television program 'Bezbłędnie' on TVP 3 Kielce since 2019, both dedicated to Polish language correctness and culture.

With over 170 publications including monographs, journal articles, textbooks, and language guides, Zbróg has established himself as a leading figure in Polish linguistics. His editorial work on volumes such as 'Współczesna polszczyzna w badaniach językoznawczych' and 'Wybrane aspekty badań nad normą językową' demonstrates his influence in shaping contemporary linguistic discourse in Poland.
