Piotr Walczak

Piotr Walczak, MD, PhD is a Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. As Co-Director of the Program in Image Guided Neurointerventions (PIGN), he specializes in MRI-guided neurointerventional techniques and stem cell therapies for neurological disorders.

His laboratory develops image-guided neurointerventional platforms for precise delivery of stem cells and therapeutics, emphasizing applications in brain tumors, neurodegeneration, and stroke. Collaborative efforts include creating immunocompetent glioblastoma models and exploring glial progenitor transplantation for dysmyelination disorders.
