Piotr Rosik

Prof. Piotr Rosik is a Professor of Social Sciences at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization (IGiPZ PAN) of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he has been since 2008. Previously, he held a position at Poznań University of Technology (2007–2010). He earned his PhD in Economic Sciences (2007) from Poznań University of Economics, with a dissertation on transport infrastructure's socio-economic effects in Spain and Poland, followed by a habilitation in Earth Sciences (2015) focusing on accessibility modeling.

His research emphasizes transport geography, particularly accessibility and mobility dynamics, infrastructure impacts on regional development, and policy evaluation. Notable projects include analyzing Poland’s motorway development (2004–2013), EU-funded infrastructure effects, and cross-border accessibility in the Polish-Slovak borderland. He has collaborated on large-scale studies like the EU-ROAD-ACC project and MAI indicator frameworks for accessibility monitoring.
