Piotr Mazgaj is a faculty member at Warsaw University of Technology's Institute of Heat Engineering (ITC), working within the Department of Energy Machinery and Equipment under the Faculty of Mechanical Power Engineering and Aeronautics (MEiL). He holds the academic title of dr inż. (doctor of engineering), equivalent to a PhD in engineering disciplines.
His research interests focus on nuclear energy systems, specifically:
- Nuclear reactor safety analysis
- Thermal-flow phenomena in nuclear reactors
- Modeling of Generation IV nuclear reactors
- Energy storage systems modeling
- Hybrid energy systems integrating renewable sources, nuclear reactors, hydrogen technologies, and storage solutions
Dr. Mazgaj maintains regular consultation hours (Fridays 10:00-11:00 remotely, with additional times available by prior arrangement) and is actively involved in supervising diploma and intermediate thesis projects related to nuclear engineering topics.
