Piotr Kulesza

Dr. DSc Eng Piotr Kulesza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Protection and Landscape at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. He belongs to the Institute of Mathematics, Informatics and Landscape Architecture within the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences. A landscape architecture graduate from the same university, he earned his PhD in humanities with specialization in art history.

His research focuses on interdisciplinary connections between nature and art, particularly vegetation representation in visual arts. He specializes in historical and contemporary garden design, sacred space vegetation arrangements, and cultural landscape preservation. His work examines how religious structures integrate with natural environments through dendrological analysis.

Kulesza has supervised numerous diploma theses on sacred space development, including projects for church surroundings in Pliszczyn, Dysa, Terespol, and other Polish communities. His research has been recognized through multiple awards including Rector's Awards (2011-2023), the National Education Medal (2016), and Bronze Medal for Long Service (2018).
