Piotr Dutkiewicz is a Professor of Political Science at Carleton University and Director of the Centre for Governance and Public Management. He holds dual doctorates (LLM from University of Warsaw and PhD from Russian Academy of Sciences) and has authored/co-edited over 30 books, focusing on Eastern Europe, Russia, and Eurasian integration. His research explores social change, political systems, and global hegemony, with recent work addressing post-pandemic world order and Eurasian geopolitical dynamics.

Research interests include Russian domestic politics, civilizational discourse, and the evolution of global power structures. His projects, such as the (Re)Inventing Hegemonies Project, analyze structural contradictions in the world system and emerging hegemonies. Notable publications include Civilizations and World Order (2022) and Hegemony and World Order (2020).
Awards include two honorary doctorates and recognition for contributions to Canada-Russia relations. He has advised on governance projects in Russia and lectured globally, with over 200 presentations across 20+ countries.
