Dr. Ping Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology and an affiliated member of The Stevens Institute for Artificial Intelligence (SIAI). She holds a PhD from Virginia Tech and specializes in machine learning applications for healthcare informatics.
Her research develops AI systems for clinical question answering, medical information extraction, and healthcare knowledge discovery. She has received the NSF CRII Award (2023) and Amazon Research Award (2025), and was recognized as Research PhD Student of the Year at Virginia Tech (2021).
Dr. Wang teaches courses in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing and serves on multiple committees including the SES Committee on Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness and CS Strategic Planning Committee.
