Pilyim Kang is a Professor at the Department of Chinese Trade Major, Sejong University. He holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Literature from Peking University (1999), an MA from Sungkyunkwan University (1995), and a BA in Chinese Language and Literature from the same institution (1991). His academic career at Sejong University progressed from Assistant Professor (2006) to Professor (2016).

Research Interests focus on Chinese poetry from the Tang Dynasty and earlier periods, the evolution of poetry clubs, and cultural exchanges between China and Korea. His work also explores the reception of Korean dramas in China, particularly through the lens of academic discourse on the Korean Wave.
Recent Research Trends include diachronic analysis of poetry societies, the integration of Buddhist music into literary traditions, and the historical transmission of Tang literati practices. His publications span topics from classical poetry forms to modern media studies.
