Pietro Micheli is a Professor of Business Performance and Innovation at Warwick Business School (University of Warwick) and Head of the Operations Management Group. He leads the cross-disciplinary 'Spotlight on the Future of Business, Manufacturing & Innovation' initiative. Previously, he directed the Warwick Distance Learning MBA (ranked #1 globally) and the Executive MBA. He holds a PhD and Master by Research from Cranfield School of Management and a Master in Management and Production Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
His research focuses on strategy implementation, innovation management (including design thinking and digital transformation), and operations performance. He has consulted for over 30 global organizations, including Allianz, Jaguar Land Rover, and governments. He is also a Visiting Professor at Cranfield's Centre for Business Performance and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Bologna.
Pietro has been awarded nine teaching awards at Warwick and speaks four languages (English, Italian, French, Spanish). His work bridges academia and practice, with 36 peer-reviewed articles (3,850 Scopus citations, h-index 24) and books like 'Measurement Madness: Recognizing and Avoiding the Pitfalls of Performance Management' (Wiley, 2015).
