Pietro Daniel Omodeo

Pietro Daniel Omodeo is an Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He is a historian of science and epistemologist, serving on the Ca' Foscari ERC Board, Venice University Press Editorial Committee, and NICHE Scientific Committee.

• Research Focus: Historical epistemology, early modern cosmology, political epistemology (Gramscian frameworks), and socio-institutional contexts of scientific debates.
• Projects: Principal Investigator for ERC Consolidator Grant Institutions and Metaphysics of Cosmology and FARE project Positioned Cosmology in Early Modernity.
• Teaching: Courses on Historical Epistemology, Political Epistemology, and Environmental Humanities at BA, MA, and Collegio Internazionale levels.

Publications span Renaissance astronomy, cosmology, and intersections of science and ideology. He actively engages with international research networks and multilingual scholarship (English, German, French, Latin).
