Pietro Baldelli is a full Professor at the Department of Experimental Medicine (DIMES) within the University of Genova's School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He serves on the departmental board (Giunta di dipartimento) and participates in library and school governance as a council member.
His research focuses on neurophysiological mechanisms including neuronal plasticity, autophagy processes, ion channel regulation, and metabolic control of neural activity. Recent work explores glycolytic inhibition for epigenetic control of hyperactivity, REST protein deletion effects on amblyopia, and sodium channel biophysics.
